The first version of MYOB we supported was version 3, in 1993 - soon after the Windows version became available. Before that MYOB was a Mac only program. Every new version has gained some new features and refinements. Payroll, multi-user, unlimited file size, multi-currency, multi-warehousing, job and now cloud features.

With the unexpected demise of the Mac version of MYOB AccountEdge, the hunt started for an alternative.
Manager from Sydney is my favoured replacement for MYOB, but it doesn’t have payroll, it is less powerful than MYOB, runs on Mac, PC, Linux and online. It would suit about 80% of the MYOB users I’ve worked with, it is free and regularly updated. It comes in 2 versions - Free locally on your computer and a multiuser, multi file cloud version for about $50 a month.

Xero has been gaining market share at a rapid rate, mainly at the expense of MYOB. Nearly everyone you speak to is happy with Xero, but like MYOB the subscription costs can be onerous.
We have been registered BAS agents since it became a requirement to handle any GST matters.
